Drawing from the medias currently available in its high-end pleated filter cartridge line, the PB series allows you to have the same medias in a bag housing. This will increase your dirt-holding and flow capabilities tremendously if you are used to using 2.5" cartridges. If you are replacing a high efficiency bag, then you have the capability of even tighter filtration and longer run times between change outs. Available in 90% nominal and 99.9% absolute ratings, polypropylene or glass fiber media, the PB series should meet most stringent filtration requirements.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://hcwarnerfilters.blogspot.com/2010/02/new-parker-fulflo-pleated-bag.html' title='New! Thicker viscosities make some filtration technologies such as wound cartridges useless as the pump has to work too hard to push the liquid through. This is where the term "void area" in a filter comes into play - the more void area (the space in between the fibers of a filter), the easier it is to flow thick solutions through.

Good choices include Parker's ProBond filter cartridge, bag filters, wedgewire screens, and strainers. Warner, Inc. is a long time representative of Velcon Filters of Colorado Springs. Velcon specializes in oil/fuel filtration and has state of the art equipment for drying out transformer oil. Dissolved water in transformer oil reduces the effectiveness of the oil to insulate the transformer. Excessive water can cause arching, which creates carbon particulate in the oil.

Water reduces the oil's dielectric strength, thus reducing the efficiency of the transformer.
Velcon's Superdri system removes dissolved water through a patented molecular sieve process, eliminating the need for heat or vacuum. He founded H.C. Warner, Inc. in 1946 in his garage in Jacksonville, Florida. A graduate of the University of Florida, H.C. was an offensive tackle (at 5'10", 175 lbs.) and a champion wrestler. His youngest son Bill took over H.C. Warner, Inc in 1966. H.C. entertained swimmers at the "Y" by doing handstands on the diving board when he was 66 years old until the lifeguards kicked him out.

H.C. Warner specializes in providing prefiltration for membranes that are desalinating the water that many Floridians drink. These typically include a large stainless steel housing and filter cartridges that we developed specifically for this industry - the HFT series cartridge. Flows up to 2,000 GPM are not uncommon, and normally 5 micron retention filters are used. Brackish or seawater is filtered, then sent directly to the membranes for salt separation. We have been involved in over 60 installations in the Southeast alone.

H.C.
